Zunaid Barday qualified (MBChB) at the University of Cape Town in 1993. Trained and works as a physician and then a nephrologist at Groote Schuur Hospital and UCT in Cape Town, where he is an Associate Professor.
He runs the Renal Transplant Clinic and is involved in all aspects of living kidney donor assessment and post-transplant care of kidney transplant recipients. More recently been involved starting the first ABO incompatible kidney transplant and Kidney Paired Donation programme in South Africa.
Currently Exco Member of SATS, SANS and MACOT. Research interests include ABO incompatible kidney transplantation as well as HIV positive kidney transplantation.
