Prof. Rümeyza Kazancıoğlu is Professor of Nephrology at Bezmialem Vakif University, School of Medicine, Istanbul, where she also directs the Transplantation Center and Peritoneal Dialysis Unit. She previously served as Vice-Chancellor and Vice Dean of Education at the same institution. She has played a pivotal role in nephrology education and research, having founded the Nephrology Clinic and Fellowship Program at Haseki Training and Research Hospital before joining Bezmialem.
Her academic and clinical work spans peritoneal dialysis, transplantation, and disaster nephrology, with a distinguished record of publications and international collaborations. Prof. Kazancıoğlu has hosted ISN, ERA-EDTA, and ISPD fellows from several countries and actively contributes to global nephrology capacity building.
She has served as Councillor and Chair for the Central and Eastern Europe Region of ISN as well as the ISN Fellowship Committee. She is currently a member of the ERA EuDial Working Group and Renal Disaster Preparedness Task Force and a long-standing member of the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis.
