Dr. Peng is Professor of Medicine and Nephrologist, serving as Chief of the Nephrology Division, Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine, and Director of the Internal Medicine Teaching and Research Section at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University.

She holds key academic appointments, including Member of the Nephrology Society of the Chinese Medical Association, Member of the Renal Physiology Committee of the Chinese Physiological Society, Vice Chair of the Nephrology Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association, and Chair of the Renal Pharmacotherapy Expert Committee of the Guangdong Pharmaceutical Association. Dr. Peng is a recipient of the Guangdong “Distinguished Talent in Scientific and Technological Innovation” and the “Outstanding Young Medical Talent of Guangdong Province” award.

Her research focuses on the basic science of peritoneal dialysis, with a particular emphasis on peritoneal fibrosis and encapsulating peritoneal sclerosis (EPS). As a first or corresponding author, she has published over 60 papers in top-tier journals, including Science Translational Medicine, Nature Communications, Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, Kidney International, Journal of Extracellular Vesicles, Aging Cell, and Journal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle.
