Professor Eric Goffin studied medicine and specialised in internal medicine and nephrology at the catholic University of Louvain in Brussels. He also spent a year as an assistant in the Nephrology Department at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine.
He is currently Head of the Nephrology Department, where he supervises the outpatient dialysis unit (including home haemodialysis, self-care dialysis and peritoneal dialysis) and shares responsibility for the outpatient follow-up of kidney transplant patients.
Throughout his career, Professor Goffin has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications. He has also served on several scientific committees, including the French-speaking Society of Nephrology, where he chaired the Dialysis Commission.
Over the past decade, he has been actively involved in many scientific conferences, presentations and congresses, both as a speaker and as a moderator. His main areas of interest include clinical peritoneal dialysis, clinical transplantation and home haemodialysis.
Le professeur Eric Goffin a étudié la médecine et s’est spécialisé en médecine interne et en néphrologie à l’Université catholique de Louvain, à Bruxelles. Il a également passé un an comme assistant au service de néphrologie de l’hôpital Addenbrooke’s, à la University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine.
Il est actuellement chef du service de néphrologie, où il supervise l’unité de dialyse extra-hjospitalière (incluant l’hémodialyse à domicile, l’autodialyse et la dialyse péritonéale) et partage la responsabilité du suivi ambulatoire des patients transplantés rénaux.
Au cours de sa carrière, le professeur Goffin a rédigé et co-rédigé de nombreuses publications scientifiques. Il a également siégé dans plusieurs comités scientifiques, notamment au sein de la Société francophone de Néphrologie, où il a présidé la Commission de dialyse.
Au cours de la dernière décennie, il a participé activement à de nombreuses conférences scientifiques, présentations et congrès, en tant qu’orateur et modérateur. Ses principaux domaines d’intérêt comprennent la dialyse péritonéale clinique, la transplantation clinique et l’hémodialyse à domicile.
