| Call For Abstracts – SA Renal Congress 2026 |

The Scientific Programme Committee is pleased to announce that abstract submissions for the SA Renal Congress 2026 have been extended until 17th May 2026.

You are invited to submit abstracts for the South African Nephrology Society (SANS) programme track or the Renal Care Society of Southern Africa (RCSSA) programme track. Submissions for the SA Renal Congress are not limited to PD related topics. Submissions are welcomed for all nephrology related topics.

Submission Guidelines

Please read through the submission guidelines before submitting your abstract.

  • The deadline for abstract submissions is 17 May 2026.
  • Submissions must be submitted online through the online submission system.
  • Abstract should be in English.
  • Abstracts must follow a structured format. Subheadings for Introduction, Methods, Results and Conclusion should be used.
  • Abstracts can be submitted for oral or poster presentations. Authors are not guaranteed an oral presentation slot if oral presentation is selected. A final decision will be made after the review process based on the reviewer’s feedback.
  • Biographies will be included on the Congress app.
  • The body text of your abstract should not exceed 300 words.
  • Images and tables can be inserted into the body text. A maximum of two images, tables or a combination thereof can be included. Images will need to be compressed. Tables can be inserted as images to avoid using your word count.
  • Previously presented/published abstracts are permitted provided the initial and subsequent conferences also allow so.
  • Permission should be obtained from all the listed authors prior to submission.
  • Please review your abstract for typographical, spelling, and grammatical errors prior to submitting.

Review Process

Abstracts will undergo a triple-blind review process.  The programme committee will make the final decision on acceptances based on the reviewer’s feedback.

Authors will be notified in writing in May 2026.

Presenting Author Registration

Presenting authors will be required to register and settle their payment thereof by 31 May 2026.

If the original listed presenting author cannot attend, a co-author may present the work provided they are registered.
